For many newlyweds, this normally comes down to a straight choice between the pre recorded music played by a professional DJ and the live music provided by hired wedding bands. Thankfully, DJs have come a long way since the cheesy disco lights and mobile discos of yesteryear. However, even the most enthusiastic and accomplished DJ just cannot create the same kind of atmosphere that comes from talented live bands who can make music.
Although generally more expensive to hire than an individual DJ, the extra money spent on live bands can provide extra benefit. Whereas a DJ will typically only start playing in the evening, most wedding bands can start much earlier and play different sets at different times of the day.
